Demonstrating innovative sodium-ion battery technology
The key focus of the S4 Project is to translate cutting-edge sodium-ion battery research being undertaken at the University of Wollongong into real-world products and energy storage solutions.
That's why we're working with some of the most innovative battery manufacturing partners in China, and why we've set ambitious targets for demonstrating the S4 Project sodium-ion technology in real-world applications.
We'll install a 5 kWh sodium-ion battery module at the Illawarra Flame House at the University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus as the first test of the technology.
The final demonstration of the sodium-ion batteries will be a 30 kWh pack installed alonside renewable energy generation and a custom-developed energy management system at Sydney Water's Bondi Sewage Pumping Station.
The Illawarra Flame HouseĀ
We'll be demonstrating our sodium-ion battery technology first in the Illawarra Flame House, located at the University of Wollongong's Innovation Campus.
Bondi Sewage Pumping Station
Sydney Water's Bondi Sewage Pumping Station will be the final demonstration site for our sodium-ion batteries - integrated into a custom energy management system to ensure optimal performance and resilience.
